    Rome Health Community & Transformation

    As announced at their Nov. 29th Ceremonial Ground Breaking, Rome Health and the Rome Health Foundation have undertaken a historic fund-raising campaign for the new addition for surgical services and intensive care. The $45.7 million capital project is being funded through a partnership of more than $29 million in public funding and private philanthropy.   The Foundation has raised nearly $15 million from major donors towards its $16.5 million goal in private funding.  Now, the Rome Health Foundation is inviting the community to support “Community & Transformation. Here. Our Campaign for Surgical Services & Intensive Care” to help provide the community with the best care out there here.

    Rome Health has been designated as Blue Distinction Center+ for Maternity Care

    Rome Health in Rome, NY has been designated as a Blue Distinction Centers+ for Maternity Care by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield (BCBS) as part of the Blue Distinction Specialty Care program.  The Blue Distinction Centers for Maternity Care program plays a key role in the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association’s (BCBSA) National Health Equity Strategy aimed at reducing racial health disparities across the care spectrum and improving patient outcomes for all Americans. Based on data from the current designation cycle, facilities designated under the Maternity Care program demonstrate higher-quality care compared to non-Blue Distinction Center facilities, with overall average rates of 26% lower episiotomies, 60% fewer elective deliveries and 17% lower cesarean births—all of which point to healthier outcomes for patients.

    Top ranked nursing home names new assistant administrator

    Daniel S. Kemp, PT, DPT, MHA, CLT, has been named assistant administrator of the Residential Health Care Facility on Rome Health's third floor. The 80-bed Residential Health Care Facility (RHCF) provides short-term rehabilitation, long-term care and respite care. For the last six years, Kemp has been employed as a physical therapist at Rome Health, where he has evaluated and treated patients in the acute, sub-acute and senior behavioral health settings. He is looking forward to becoming a member of the RHCF’s leadership team to provide safe, efficient and outcome driven care to its residents and families.

    US News Names Rome Health 2024 Best Nursing Home for Rehab

    Rome Health has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a Best Nursing Home for the fifth year in a row.  It is one of only 13% of skilled nursing facilities in the nation to earn the designation for 2024. Rome Health’s Residential Health Care Facility (RHCF) earned Best Nursing Home status by achieving a rating of “High Performing,” the highest possible rating, for short-term rehabilitation. The RHCF has also been ranked as a top performing nursing home by the New York State Nursing Home Quality Initiative.

  • James Street entrance of Rome Health

    James Street entrance closes January 2 to prepare for construction

    Effective Tuesday, Jan. 2, the James Street entrance at Rome Health will be closed as the hospital prepares to construct the new addition for the new Intensive Care Unit and Kaplan Center for Surgical Services. To access the hospital, please use the hospital’s alternate entrances.  The Emergency Department entrance is open 24 hours a day.  The Bartlett Entrance facing Black River Boulevard is open 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Construction will impact traffic flow and parking for the next 24 to 30 months.
