Rome Health Nationally Recognized by the American Heart Association for Stroke Care

Rome Health has received two American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® achievement awards for demonstrating a commitment to following up-to-date, research-based guidelines for the treatment of stroke, helping save lives, support recovery and reduce hospital readmissions. Heart disease and stroke are the No. 1 and No. 4 causes of death in the United States, respectively, according to the American Heart Association’s 2026 Heart Disease and Stroke Statistics Report. Studies show patients can experience better outcomes when care teams consistently follow evidence-based treatment guidelines.

Prenatal Care Services relocates to Black River Boulevard

Rome Health has received approval from the New York State Department of Health to relocate Prenatal Care Services from 155 W. Dominick St. to Rome Health Pediatrics at 1819 Black River Blvd., effective Monday, May 18, 2026. The relocation is designed to better align resources, strengthen collaboration among care teams and continue enhancing care for families in the community.

New appointment cancellation policy

To improve access to care for patients across the community, Rome Health will implement a new appointment cancellation and no-show policy effective Friday, May 1. The first three months — May through July — will serve as a grace period focused on patient education. Missed appointments and last-minute cancellations prevent Rome Health from offering those time slots to other patients who may be waiting for care, delaying important evaluations, testing, and treatment.

Free Hernia Screening May 13

Board-certified surgeon Pete Del Pino, MD, will offer free hernia screenings from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, at Oneida Surgical Group, 357 Genesee St., Suite 3, Oneida. Appointments are limited and may be scheduled by calling 315-338-7209. During the free screening, Dr. Del Pino will evaluate symptoms, answer questions and determine whether additional testing or treatment is recommended.

The ranking was developed by Newsweek in partnership with Plant-A Insights and Aniline, a leading HR analytics company. The evaluation analyzed more than 1.3 million online employee reviews from U.S.-based organizations and assessed companies across six key pillars, including work-life balance, compensation and benefits, career development and workplace culture.
