Rome Health is pleased to announce that three surgeons from Oneida Surgical Group—Dr. Pedro Del Pino, Dr. Alberto Del Pino, and Dr. Theresa Wendel Ruddy—are now performing surgeries at Rome Health. Their advanced training and commitment to excellence are enhancing the surgical services available to patients in the Mohawk Valley region.

Dr. Pedro Del Pino, a board-certified general surgeon, is fellowship trained in thoracic surgery and performs a variety of general and thoracic procedures. He earned his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse and completed his general surgery residency at Albany Medical Center. He further specialized through a thoracic surgery fellowship at SUNY Upstate. Dr. Del Pino is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.

Dr. Alberto Del Pino, M.D., and Dr. Theresa Wendel Ruddy, M.D., M.P.H., specialize in general and colorectal surgery. They are board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Their expertise includes surgical and non-surgical treatment of colorectal conditions such as cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and hemorrhoids.

Dr. Alberto Del Pino earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, where he also completed his general surgery residency and a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery. He held academic positions at Cook County Hospital, West Side VA Medical Center, and Rush University.

Dr. Theresa Wendel Ruddy is a graduate of the SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and holds a Master of Public Health in health policy and administration from the University of Illinois in Chicago. “At Rome Health, we are continuously building relationships with new physicians with specialized expertise to expand access to the best care out there, here,” said Dr. Andrade. “Our goal is to make it easy for physicians to perform their procedures here so they can simply focus on delivering the best patient care.”
