The Rome Twigs will host their annual Tree of Lights ceremony on Sunday, December 6, at 7 p.m. in the Main Entrance parking area at Rome Health. The community is invited to join in this special holiday tradition honoring those who make a difference in the lives of patients and families.
A reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the lobby of Rome Health’s Main Entrance, followed by the tree-lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. Parking for the event will be available in the North James Street parking lot.
This year’s honorees are the staff of Rome Health’s Residential Health Care Facility (RHCF), in recognition of their dedication and commitment to caring for residents. Winberg Physical Therapy of New Hartford, led by Erik Winberg, PT, DPT, is sponsoring this year’s event.
The Tree of Lights is an annual fundraiser supporting the Rome Twigs, a nonprofit organization with a longstanding tradition of service to Rome Health and its mission. Last year’s campaign raised more than $12,000, helping fund initiatives that enhance patient comfort and care, provide equipment, and support the campaign for surgical services and critical care.
Community members may purchase lights in honor of a living person, in memory of a loved one who has passed away, or in appreciation of the care received at Rome Health. All names submitted will be displayed around the reception area and on a rotating screen throughout the holiday season as part of this meaningful holiday tradition.
Donations of $5 per light must be received by November 20, 2026, for inclusion in this year’s display. Contributions may be mailed to:
Rome Health Twigs
1500 N. James St.
Rome, NY 13440
Donations may also be made online at https://rome-twigs-gift-shop.square.site or dropped off at the gift shop in the hospital’s Main Entrance lobby.
Since 1989, the Tree of Lights has served as a cherished symbol of the holiday season and an opportunity for the community to remember loved ones, recognize others, and support the care provided at Rome Health. The Twigs invite the community to take part in this tradition and help continue its meaningful impact.
