Rome Health’s Wound Center recognized as a Center of Distinction

  Rome Health’s Wound Care Center has been recognized as a Healogics Center of Distinction and has been awarded the Robert A. Warriner III Clinical Excellence Award for 2023. These awards demonstrate the wound center’s continued and consistent commitment to excellence, and a focus on creating an exceptional patient experience.

  To be awarded the Center of Distinction, a center must be conducting the Medical Surveillance Review process per policy and excel in Key Performance Indicators:

  • Patient Satisfaction: Greater than or equal to 92%
  • Wound Adjusted Comprehensive Healing Rate (waCHR): Greater than or equal to 77%
  • Outlier Rate: Less than or equal to 16%

  To be awarded the Clinical Excellence Award, a center must achieve a waCHR of 83% or higher. The Rome Health Wound Care Center earned an waCHR of 83.3% which puts the facility and its staff at a platinum level.

You should make an appointment to see a wound care specialist when:

  • Any wound that has not healed in 30 days
  • Any wound below the knee, if you have diabetes

  • Any wound if you have lupus, rheumatoid arthritis or scleroderma
  • If your Doctor has suggested the possibility of Amputation
  • Pain or injury at the site of past radiation treatments

  Treatment options available at Rome Health’s Wound Care Center include; debridement, topical wound therapy, cellular and tissue based therapy, compression therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), and negative pressure wound therapy.
